Opening Friday, this theatrical event reimagines the story of Oedipus as the centerpiece of a redemptive musical celebration. The blinded Oedipus seeks rest in the town of Colonus, near Athens, after a lifetime of tragedy. There he is pursued by enemies, including his son. Based on Sophocles's Oedipus at Colonus from the 5th century BCE, this adaptation blends Greek myth with Black spiritual practice in a jubilant, life-affirming journey. Adaptation and original lyrics by Lee Breuer. Tickets: $40–$55

Established in 2011, the Latino Comics Expo is a gathering of Latinx and Latin American comic artists, animators, experts and fans. Featuring panel discussions and presentations with 51 comic vendors and illustrators as well as food trucks, children's chalk area and DJ Richard Estrada on Saturday. Entry included with MOLAA admission fee on Saturday / free on Sunday.
