In Khosravi’s mixed-media compositions, cultural narratives and political commentary converge, integrating trompe l’oeil effects and elements from Persian miniatures. New paintings by Steffan capture the spiritual longing to transcend the self, particularly through the lens of nature, focusing on the sublime with a meaning beyond the Romantic notion of awe and terror.
