Paradise Cove, Malibu

Summer is officially here and that means weekend escapes to the beach! This week, we're rounding up a few of our picks—on or near the edge of the Pacific—for casual, tasty and satisfying dining whether you've been riding the waves, toasting on the sand...or both!

Neptune’s Net | Malibu
A Malibu hang with credentials from the 1950s and the menu items you'd expect – crab cakes, calamari, oysters, etc. – along with a classic ocean view.

Paradise Cove | Malibu
We love going for breakfast, not to mention the yummy drinks – if you can't resist. Above all, make sure you take a walk down the gorgeous beach after!

Malibu Seafood | Malibu
A personal fave of our editor – who almost always orders the grilled halibut with rice and salad and sits up on the top dining area to admire the view. Sooths both soul and tummy at the same time!

Patrick’s Roadhouse | Santa Monica
Breakfast! Of course there's more on the menu but why not start out the day at this Santa Monica spot that has been here forever and then head out to one of an endless line-up of nearby beaches…

Crystal Cove Shake Shack | Manhattan Beach
Breakfast, burgers, shakes… everything the kids – and the kid in you – could desire!

Fishing With Dynamite | Manhattan Beach
This cute unpretentious place has a wide range – including a raw bar with sushi, oyster selection and other treats. The crispy cod fritters sound tempting! Something for everyone in your party.

Crusty Crab Fish Market | San Pedro
The three C's! Calamari, ceviche and chowder and so much more! Have lunch here on Saturday and then stop by Angels Gate Cultural Center Gallery between 3 and 5 pm for the opening listed in our Galleries & Museums section, above. San Pedro here we come!
